Saving the world. By design.
Is design the key to solving the world’s biggest problems? We think so. That’s why we launched UX for Good.
What We Do
We dreamed up UX for Good in 2011 as a way to use design to make tangible, sustainable progress on society’s biggest challenges. It was an early player in the design for good movement, and the first to leverage the then-emerging field of user experience design to create original, impactful solutions.
UX for Good addresses social challenges, bringing together top user experience designers, strategists, and thinkers to discover real solutions to questions such as, “How do museums stop genocide?" and “How do we educate the hearts of children?” as well as “How do we revolutionize a family’s journey navigating pediatric cancer?” To take on these challenges, UX for Good brings together a handful of top user experience designers from around the world to conceptualize and develop novel interventions that help solve these complex, social challenges.
Our goal is to create tangible solutions and get them into the world to then drive real change. To do so, we share our insights publicly. UX for Good’s innovative approach has been recognized with awards, including the People’s Choice Award at the 2013 IXDA Interaction Awards.
Who We Are
Since we launched in 2011, more than 150 designers, strategists, and big thinkers - from North America, Europe, Australia, and Africa - have contributed to solutions that make a real difference in peoples’ lives.
In addition to founders Jason Ulaszek and Jeff Leitner, UX for Good is guided by Andrew Benedict-Nelson, and Brian Winters.
Where We're Headed
As UX for Good looks to the future, our aspiration is to scale our impact and extend our reach. We recognize the growing demand for our unique approach to using UX design in solving societal challenges. In response to the increasing number of requests for our involvement in diverse projects, we are committed to expanding our capabilities.
Our goal is to continue being at the forefront of using UX design for social good. With adequate funding, we can broaden our project scope, increase our resources, and enhance our ability to foster innovation and empathy. We aim to be the catalyst for impactful solutions to the world's most pressing issues, constantly pushing the boundaries of how design can create a more equitable, understanding, and humane society.
